Use case

A video trading journal that fills itself in as you trade

A written journal records what you remember about a trade. A video journal records what actually happened on the chart. TradeCut builds one for you: every trade you take becomes a clip with its facts attached, ready to review when the session is over.

What a written journal leaves out

Hours after the close, the reasons behind an entry get tidier than they were. A row in a spreadsheet can hold the price and the result, but not how long you hesitated, where price was when you moved the stop, or what the chart looked like when you clicked. Watching the trade back answers those questions without relying on memory.

Every trade is its own entry

TradeCut records inside your trading hours and cuts a clip each time a position opens and closes, so the journal fills in without any extra step. Each entry carries the symbol, direction, time and result, and the library filters by ticker, date and P&L. Looking for every losing NQ trade from last week is a filter, not an afternoon of scrubbing.

Notes and strategy tags

Open a clip in the web editor and write a note on it, or assign it a strategy from your own list. The strategy list is shared between the desktop app and the web, so a setup you named on one shows up on the other.

  • Free-form notes on each trade
  • A strategy chosen from a list you control
  • Screenshots and uploaded trading videos attached to a trade, on Starter and above

Private by default

Recording stays on your computer until you turn on cloud sync. Synced clips are private to your account; nothing is public unless you publish a share link, and you can switch that off at any time. Clips in the cloud library are deleted 60 days after they sync, so download the ones you want to keep for good; your local recordings follow the retention you set in the app.

Reviewing a day at a time

Most traders review in batches. The daily trade recap gathers a day's clips into one recap and one link, which makes the end-of-day review a few minutes long.

Questions

Does TradeCut replace a spreadsheet journal?

It covers what a spreadsheet cannot: the chart itself, at the moment you traded. You can keep your statistics where they already are and use the clips for the replay.

Can I add notes to a trade?

Yes. Every clip has a notes field and a strategy you can assign from your own list, editable in the web editor.

Who can see my trades?

Only you. A clip becomes visible to someone else only when you publish a share link for it, and switching the link off stops it working immediately.

How long are clips kept?

Clips synced to the cloud library are deleted automatically 60 days after they were synced, whatever your plan. Download any clip you want to keep longer; recordings on your own computer follow the retention setting in the app.

Let your next session clip itself.

7 days, 14 clips, no card. Install in two minutes on macOS or Windows.
